AION 2 Restricts 7,933 Accounts in Bot and RMT Crackdown

NC’s AION 2 team has restricted 7,933 accounts in an enforcement wave aimed at botting, gold farming, real-money trading (RMT) and economy abuse. The AION 2 account restrictions followed a review of in-game activity and the wider service environment, and the team says the goal is to keep the game fair for every Daeva.

AION 2 account restrictions: what happened

The announcement lists the restrictions as taking effect on October 15 at 22:00 PDT (given as October 16, 06:00 CEST). The team said restrictions are only applied after review, in line with the Operation Policy, and that normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected.

This follows earlier waves, including the Oct 14 account restrictions and the Oct 12/13 account restrictions.

Who was targeted: botting, gold farming and economy abuse

The enforcement focused on two broad categories of misconduct:

  • Botting and gold farming: use of macros, bots or other unauthorized programs, along with organized play patterns consistent with gold farming or RMT.
  • Economy abuse: abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the game economy.

The listed reason falls under the Sanctions Table in the AION 2 Operation Policy, covering gold farming and bot operations, use of unauthorized programs, and real-money trading.

Security locks are not penalties

Alongside the restrictions, a small number of accounts were temporarily locked as a precaution. These locks apply when access is detected from a device or connection that could pose a security risk, such as a possible account compromise. The team stressed that a security lock is not a penalty. It exists to protect the account and its items until the situation can be verified, and affected players are asked to contact Customer Support to regain access.

What to do if your account was restricted or locked

If you believe your account was restricted or locked in error, submit a ticket through the official AION 2 Customer Support page at help.plaync.com/faq/aion2global as soon as possible. The team says every request is reviewed individually. The full AION 2 Operation Policy is available on the official PlayNC site.

Context: why enforcement matters for the AION 2 economy

As context rather than a statement from the team, bot and gold farming operations can affect in-game markets, which matters to players who earn currency through normal play. The announcement itself did not discuss market effects. It also did not specify restriction durations, whether restrictions are permanent, or any compensation, so those details remain unconfirmed.
