AION 2 Account Restrictions: 9,422 Accounts Hit for Botting and RMT

AION 2’s team has restricted 9,422 accounts for botting, gold farming, real-money trading (RMT) and economy abuse. The AION 2 account restrictions took effect on October 14 (Wed) at 00:00 PDT / 09:00 CEST, according to an official announcement shared with the community.

What Triggered the Account Restrictions

The development team continuously monitors in-game activity and the overall service environment to maintain a fair playing field. Following a thorough review, it restricted accounts found to violate the Operation Policy, citing Gold Farming and Bot Operations, Use of Unauthorized Programs, and Real-Money Trading (RMT) as the violations.

Who Was Restricted and Why

Action was taken against two categories of violations.

First, botting and gold farming, which covers:

  • Use of macros, bots or other unauthorized programs
  • Organized play patterns consistent with gold farming or real-money trading

Second, economy abuse: abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the game economy.

Is Normal Grinding Safe?

According to the team, yes. Restrictions are applied only after review, in line with the Operation Policy. Normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected by these enforcement actions.

Understanding Temporary Security Locks

Separate from the account restrictions, a small number of accounts were temporarily locked as a precaution. This occurs when access is detected from a device or connection that poses a potential security risk, such as a possible account compromise.

A security lock is not a penalty. It protects the account and its items until the situation can be verified. Players affected by a temporary security lock should contact Customer Support to restore access.

How to Appeal a Restriction or Lock

If you believe your account was restricted or locked in error, submit a ticket through AION 2 Customer Support as soon as possible. The team reviews every request individually. The full AION 2 Operation Policy and its Sanctions Table are available on the official policy page.
