NC has restricted 10,326 AION 2 accounts after a review found them in violation of the AION 2 Operation Policy. These AION 2 account restrictions target botting, gold farming, real-money trading (RMT) and economy abuse. The AION 2 team also makes clear that temporary security locks are a separate matter and are not penalties.
AION 2 Account Restrictions: What Happened
The AION 2 team says it continuously monitors in-game activity and the wider service environment. Following a review, a number of accounts were restricted. The restrictions took effect on October 16 at 21:00 PDT, which is October 17 at 06:00 CEST.
Why 10,326 Accounts Were Restricted
According to the notice, the action covered two main areas:
- Botting and gold farming: use of macros, bots or other unauthorized programs, along with organized play patterns consistent with gold farming or RMT.
- Economy abuse: abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the game economy.
The listed reasons fall under the Operation Policy’s Sanctions Table, covering gold farming and bot operations, use of unauthorized programs, and real-money trading. The notice states that restrictions are only applied after review.

Temporary Security Locks Are Not Bans
Separately from the restrictions, a small number of accounts were temporarily locked as a precaution. This happens when access from a device or connection appears to pose a potential security risk, such as a possible account compromise. The team stresses that a security lock is not a penalty. It exists to protect the account and its items until the situation can be verified. Players affected by a lock should contact Customer Support to restore access.
Is Normal Grinding Safe?
The notice confirms that normal play is not affected, and that includes long grinding sessions. The enforcement is aimed at automated programs, organized gold farming and RMT activity, and trading patterns that disrupt the economy.
What to Do If Your Account Was Restricted or Locked
