AION 2 Restricts 15,380 Accounts for Botting, Gold Farming

NC has issued AION 2 account restrictions to 15,380 accounts in a round of enforcement targeting bots, gold farming, real-money trading (RMT) and economy abuse. The action, announced to players on Steam, applies to accounts that broke the game’s Operation Policy. The studio has also clarified that a separate set of temporary security locks is not a penalty.

15,380 AION 2 Accounts Restricted: What Happened

According to the announcement, the restrictions took effect on October 20 at 18:00 PDT, which is October 21 at 03:00 CEST. The team said it continuously monitors in-game activity and the wider service environment, and that a recent review resulted in action against 15,380 accounts.

Who Was Targeted: Botting, Gold Farming, RMT and Economy Abuse

The studio grouped the violations into two categories:

  • Botting and gold farming: use of macros, bots or other unauthorized programs, plus organized play patterns consistent with gold farming or RMT.
  • Economy abuse: abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the in-game economy.

The restriction details cite the Sanctions Table entries for Gold Farming and Bot Operations, Use of Unauthorized Programs, and Real-Money Trading.

Temporary Security Locks Are Not Bans

Separately from the restrictions, a small number of accounts were temporarily locked as a precaution. These locks are triggered when access comes from a device or connection that could pose a security risk, such as a possible account compromise. NC stresses that a security lock is not a penalty. It exists to protect the account and its items until the situation can be verified. Players affected by a lock need to contact Customer Support to regain access.

Is Normal Play Affected?

The studio says restrictions are applied only after review, in line with the Operation Policy, and that normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected.

What to Do If Your Account Was Restricted or Locked

If you believe your account was restricted or locked in error, submit a ticket through Customer Support as soon as possible at the AION 2 Customer Support page. The team says every request is reviewed individually. Players who want to understand the rules can read the full AION 2 Operation Policy.

This is not the first enforcement notice of its kind; see our coverage of the October 16-17 account restrictions for the previous announcement.
