Deadlock Solomon is now playable in Valve’s hero shooter, bringing four chess-inspired moves to the battlefield. Solomon stays calm and collected when facing a new challenger, approaching the city as one giant chessboard when the Patrons come calling. Valve says the release arrives just in time for National Chess Day.

Solomon’s Chess-Inspired Moves
Valve’s announcement names four moves for Solomon:
- Setup Bishop: Solomon advances by planting loyal damage dealers ahead of him and sliding them across the streets with ease.
- Kingside Knight: Comes into play on defense, granting protection to allies and enabling tactical retreats when needed.
- Rook Battery: Charges forward with great force, stalling enemies in their tracks.
- Develop Queen: His final move, which locks down enemies in an ultimate checkmate.
Valve pairs these abilities with the quote: “There’s a lot you can learn from losing to a master.”
