Battlefield 6 Dead Space Event: Marker Incursion PvE Explained

The Battlefield 6 Dead Space event kicks off October 20 with Dead Space: Convergence, a limited-time Halloween event centered on a brand-new 16-player PvE mode called Marker Incursion. Squads fight through corrupted zones, destroy Marker Shrines, and try to stop the Marker’s influence before it sets off a catastrophic event known as Convergence.

The story begins at Area 51, where Pax Armata forces expected to secure classified technology and instead discovered a Marker hidden inside the facility. Hallucinations, strange symbols and units turning on one another followed. The details are brief, but they set the tone for the nightmare ahead. If Area 51 sounds familiar, see our coverage of the REDSEC Season 5 Area 51 gameplay trailer.

How Marker Incursion PvE Works

Marker Incursion is the centerpiece of the Battlefield 6 Dead Space event: a 16-player PvE mode where squads fight through corrupted zones. The deeper they push, the tougher the fighting becomes. Every mission points to the same goal: stop Convergence before the situation becomes irreversible.

Enemies and Objectives: Marked Soldiers and Marker Shrines

The most common threat is the Marked Soldier, a former military member who has fallen under the Marker’s influence. These enemies see the battlefield differently, treating allies as targets and defending the source of their obsession at any cost.

Squads will also encounter Marker Shrines, smaller replicas built by those affected by the signal. Shrines strengthen the Marker’s hold on an area and draw in extra resistance. Destroying them is essential to keeping momentum and slowing the spread.

DS-23 Pulse Rifle Battle Pick-Up

The iconic DS-23 Pulse Rifle makes its Battlefield debut as a Battle Pick-Up during Marker Incursion. Dead Space fans will instantly recognize its distinctive design and high rate of fire.

  • RIG-Certified SMG Weapon Skin

Keep an eye out during challenges, too. Strange transmissions, hidden references and environmental storytelling are scattered throughout the event, rewarding longtime fans and newcomers who explore.
