PUBG Esports is preparing for a major shake-up in 2027. With its regional competition reshaped, a new region added and a year split into four Phases, the PUBG Esports 2027 season aims to give more teams a path to the global stage. Every team, including existing Global Partner Teams, will now need to earn its place at the PUBG Global Series (PGS) through performance.
Regional Changes: New Regions and India Joins
Several regions are being reorganised for 2027. The existing EMEA region will split into Europe, Eurasia and MENA, while the Americas will be divided into North America and South America. India, home to a large PUBG community, will also join as a new competitive region.
The road to PGS starts in each Regional League. Established squads and newcomers will compete at the regional level, and their results will decide who advances to the global stage.
Four Phases, Four Chances to Reach PGS
The 2027 season is built around four Phases. Each Phase pairs a Regional League with its corresponding PGS event, so there are four separate opportunities to qualify.
- Phase 1: Regional League Phase 1 leading to PGS Phase 1
- Phase 2: Regional League Phase 2 leading to PGS Phase 2
- Phase 3: Regional League Phase 3 leading to PGS Phase 3
- Phase 4: Regional League Phase 4 leading to PGS Phase 4
Qualifying in one Phase does not guarantee a place in the next, which keeps the race open for new challengers while asking established teams to keep proving themselves.
Global Partner Team Program Evolves
Starting in 2027, the Global Partner Team (GPT) program will shift into a partnership focused on collaborative in-game items and marketing activities. No team has a guaranteed slot: existing GPT teams must earn their place at PGS through Regional League performance, just like everyone else. More details on the updated partnership will be shared in a future announcement.
PUBG Esports Points Replace PGC and PGS Points
A new PUBG Esports Points system will replace the previous PGC Points and PGS Points. Where points used to be awarded for Regional League results and PGS results separately, they will now be awarded exclusively for performance at PGS. These points accumulate across the year and count toward qualification for the PUBG Global Championship (PGC). Details on how points are distributed and how PGC qualification works will be announced separately.
