Respawn has shortened the Apex Legends Crypto drone recall time in the latest update, cutting it from 6 seconds to 0.7 seconds. The studio says it is still assessing how Crypto is performing after his recent rework, and the patch also fixes a crash bug and stops an Evac Tower exploit.
Crypto’s Drone Recall Time Drops to 0.7 Seconds
The most significant change in the update is to Crypto’s drone recall, which has gone from 6 seconds to 0.7 seconds. This makes getting the drone back to Crypto far quicker than before.
Why Respawn Made the Change
In a developer note, Respawn said it is continuing to monitor match data and player feedback about Crypto since his rework. The team acknowledged that some aspects or finer details of the update did not hit the mark, particularly for Crypto mains. Because the recall change could be made quickly, it was shipped ahead of other planned adjustments.
Crypto Crash Bug Fixed
The update also resolves a bug that could crash the game when players used an ordnance while operating Crypto’s drone.
Evac Tower Exploit Stopped
Respawn has also stopped an exploit that allowed players to use an excessive number of Evac Towers.
What’s Next for Crypto
Respawn says it has more changes planned for Crypto that require a full client update, and that those should be released soon. No further details have been shared yet.
